How long does the P-Shot® take to work?

Some patients notice changes in sensitivity or firmness within a few weeks, with full benefits often developing over 2 to 3 months. That’s because the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) works gradually to improve blood flow and tissue function. For many, pairing the P-Shot® for men with our other men’s health services leads to more sustained, system-wide benefits.

Can the P-Shot® for men help with Peyronie’s disease?

Yes, it can! PRP has shown promise in softening scar tissue and improving curvature caused by Peyronie’s disease. While the P-Shot® for men isn’t a cure, it may reduce discomfort and improve appearance. Your provider may also recommend supportive care through integrative medicine to address inflammation and healing from multiple angles.

Do I need to stop taking ED medications before getting the P-Shot®?

Not necessarily. Many patients continue their current ED treatments while trying PRP therapy. However, one of the goals of the P-Shot® for men is to reduce or eliminate the need for medication over time. We’ll tailor your care based on your progress and may suggest adjustments in coordination with our sexual wellness support services.

Treatment

What Is the P-Shot?

The P-Shot is a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection treatment for erectile dysfunction and overall sexual performance in men. PRP comes from your own blood. We draw a small sample, spin it down in a centrifuge to concentrate the growth factors and platelets, then inject that concentrate into specific areas of the penis.

Those growth factors trigger tissue repair. New blood vessels form. Sensitivity improves. Blood flow gets better.

The whole appointment takes about 45 minutes. Most men feel little to no discomfort thanks to a topical numbing cream we apply beforehand.

No synthetic hormones. No foreign substances. Just your own biology doing what it’s supposed to do.

How the Priapus Shot Works

The science behind PRP isn’t new. Orthopedic doctors have used it for joint and tendon repair for years. What’s newer is applying that same technology to sexual wellness.

When we inject PRP into penile tissue, those concentrated platelets release growth factors that trigger something called neovascularization. Basically, new blood vessels form in tissue that may have been starved of proper circulation. Better blood flow means better erections. Better tissue health means improved sensation.

Some men also report gains in girth and length, especially when combined with a vacuum pump protocol in the weeks after treatment. We walk every patient through that process so they get the most from the treatment.

Results start showing up around 3 to 6 weeks for most men. Peak results are usually around 3 months. Many men do a follow-up treatment at that point to layer on the benefits.

P-Shot vs. ED Medication: What’s the Difference?

Pills like sildenafil and tadalafil work by increasing blood flow temporarily. They require planning, timing, and come with potential side effects like headaches, flushing, and vision changes. They also don’t fix the underlying issue. You take them forever, or until they stop working as well.

The P-Shot takes a different approach. Instead of borrowing blood flow for an hour or two, it works to restore the tissue’s ability to function on its own. For a lot of men, results last 12 to 18 months or longer. Some men don’t need the pill at all after treatment. Others find that a lower dose works much better than before.

It’s not a competition between treatments. But for men who want something more sustainable, the P-Shot is worth a real conversation.
